Road Out of Hell

A.A. Quote
"The trouble with us alcoholics was this: We demanded that the world give us happiness and peace of mind in just the particular order we wanted to get it-by the alcohol route. And we weren't successful. But when we take time to find out some of the spiritual laws, and familiarize ourselves with them, and put them into practice, then we do get happiness and peace of mind. . . . There seem to be some rules that we have to follow, but happiness and peace of mind are always here, open and free to anyone." DR. BOB AND THE GOOD OLDTIMERS, p. 308

RinC Reflection
There is a simplicity in following the 12 steps as a design for living. Provided we remember that it is not the 12 Steps that are the design for living. The 12 Steps are the design for recovery, otherwise known as the path back to God.

When we come into the presence of God, made available by the saving work of Jesus, know in our heart that He sees us as pure and perfect covered by the righteousness of Christ, we can praise His name, confess our Sin, give thanks for His blessing and hear what His perfect will is for us through His word. We can look to Jesus as our role model. We can ask His Holy Spirit for the strength to do His will. We can do this as part of God's loving family, one day at a time.

This joy and peace of mind found by resting in Jesus is offered to all who would invite Him in.

Psalm 118:24 ESV This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Philippians 4:19 ESV And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7 ESV do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
