Road Out of Hell

A.A. Quote
When told that our Society has no president having authority to govern it, no treasurer who can compel the payment of any dues, . . . our friends gasp and exclaim, "This simply can't be. . . ." TWELVE STEPS AND TWELVE TRADITIONS, p. 132

RinC Reflection
It is easy to think that we have only one authority, a loving God as He may express Himself through our group conscience. It is probably foolish to think that any majority decision, taken by a goup of recovering alcoholics in 2019, is certainly the will of a loving God as He reveals Himself, in His word, in Jesus, by the Holy Spirit and in the minds of those who love Him.

Many of the foundational spiritual values held by Bill W. and Dr. Bob, have been lost to this generation. Few know that the slogan, First Things First, comes from Dr. Bob and his favorite scripture, Matthew 6:33-34 ESV. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. 34 Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. Dr. Bob quoted this to help us overcome fear.

Christians are in the minority in todays culture. I pray that God will protect His program, given to us through Bill W. and recorded for us as a Spiritual solution to our chronic mental health disorder. In particular that any group decision which does not include Jesus as our forgiveness, Jesus as the one we follow by faith, and His Spirit for strength is rejected.

Luke 6:37 ESV Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven;
John 3:16-17 ESV For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
Isaiah 61:10 ESV I will greatly rejoice in the Lord; my soul shall exult in my God, for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation; he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself like a priest with a beautiful headdress, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
Proverbs 3:11-12 ESV My son, do not despise the Lord's discipline or be weary of his reproof, 12 for the Lord reproves him whom he loves, as a father the son in whom he delights.
